In many data sets, information is duplicated in the data set catalog and data label. Remove this duplication by keeping background information in the catalog, and immediate information on the data in the label. Formatting corrections to all data sets were supplied by both Anne Raugh and Tyler Brown to Carol by email. These corrections are to be implemented. Discussions: #arson FTS data: The data tapes have been copied from 9-track to exabyte and the decoding of the data into ascii files is near completion. Documentation of the data appears to be a major diificulty. It was suggested that we meet with Hal Larson again to get his help in documenting the data. Does he have the observing logs? Does he have listings of the contents of the tapes? Does he have copies of any of the spectra for comparison? Also, the data of primary interest pertains to Eros and to several comets. Concentrate on retrieving, validating and documenting these first. #ink comet spectra and images. Mark gave us an update. All the data have benn written to CD, and the observing logs have been scanned. A significant fraction of the information in the FITS headers is incorrect, so the observing logs are a necessary supplement to the data. #nita Cochran offered her own comet spectra for archiving in PDS. She will supply it to Mike. #nita also may be able to supply the Sawyer spectra which are missing from PDS. Carol will email her with a list of the missing data and she will check if she has them. Asteroid albedos: Don made a start on compiling albedos from different sources, but found the data to be so inhomogeneous that such a compilation may not be useful. He has been unable to locate an electronic copy of the radiometric albedos from TRIAD. Dan and Mark both indicated that they may have an electronic copy of TRIAD, so they will provide it to Don. The suggestion was also made to include albedos derived from size. #ave Dunham has an occulation diameters file which he sent to Dave Tholen and which is a mess. It needs to be fixed up and included in PDS.
