Data Set Overview                                                             
=================                                                             
This data set contains 56 images from the IRAS Sky Survay Atlas (ISSA)        
that contain the dust trail of comet 9P/Tempel 1 at 12, 25, 60, and           
100 microns.  Russell Walker scanned the ISSA (BEICHMANETAL1984) and          
indentified and extracted these 56 images from the ISSA Reject Files.         
The images were not reprocessed and color corrections were not applied.       
                                                                              
The trail is usually visible at 12 and 25 microns, occassionally at           
60 microns, and rarely at 100 microns.  The trail images are included         
in this archive to facilitate future reference and analysis.                  
                                                                              
                                                                              
Parameters

This data set contains ISSA plate numbers 147, 148, 149, 182, 183, 216,       
217, and 218 for Hours of Contact (HCON) 1 and/or 2 at 12, 25, 60, and        
100 microns.                                                                  
                                                                              
The naming convention for Trail images is iPLATE_bBAND_hHCON.fit where        
PLATE is the plate number in the ISSA Reject Files,                           
Band identifies the wavelegth (1=10um, 2=25um, 3=60 um, 4=100um), and         
HCON identifies the hours of contact (1 or 2).                                
                                                                              
The images are in units of sky brightness, mega-Jansky per steradian.
