The post-NExT STARDUST.CAT mission catalog file contains two references similar to this:

      Stardust-NExT extended mission
      ------------------------------
        In 2007, the Stardust spacecraft was re-directed to and encounter
        with comet 9P/Tempel 1.  Details of that mission are in the NEXT.CAT
        mission catalog.


so I included NEXT.CAT in an effort to make the data sets more self-contained.

I didn't want to use a pre-NExT STARDUST.CAT, without those references, or eliminate those references, because that might wipe out the newer one at EN (that might not be an issue but I remembered the mess I caused with TARGET_CATALOGs).

Would it be better if I moved NEXT.CAT out of CATALOG/ and put it into DOCUMENT/ as NEXT_CAT.TXT?

Hmm, then it sounds like DOCUMENT/NEXT_CAT.TXT is the way to go, just to provide a target for the reference in CATALOG/STARDUST.CAT.

--> VOLUME_VERSION_ID is wrong for most data sets.  For all V3.0 data sets, it should be "VERSION 3".  "VERSION 1" is already being used by the v1.0 of these data sets.
