BOPPS ===== Science Liens ------------- o Altitude should be in meters, and latitude and longitude need to be converted to degrees (from radians). o For the scoadded images, please add the delta-RA and delta-Dec in pixels to the table that lists the coadded images. o Point Spread Functions look odd - this should explained in the SIS or similar high-level documentation. o Please add to labels: - airmass - exposure time - pixel scales - shift information (for coadded images) - approximate or expected location of object o Please indicate in an appropriate place the uncertainties in the gondola altitude, latitude, and longitude o In the pointing table, the latitude and longitude of the gondola are near zero. Are these relative to the launch coordinates? Please explain. Also, gondola altitude appears to be in meters, not km. o Please define the term "penthouse" in an appropriate place (it appears in the definition of ). o Please provide full reference for Janesik (2007), mentioned on p. 81 of BOPPSsis.pdf. o In BOPPSsis.pdf: p. 82, last paragraph: “The minimum exposure frame is subtracted from the commanded exposure frame for bias correction.” Everywhere else, the commanded exposure is described as being subtracted from the bias. Is this a typo or is it unique to calculation of the read noise? o In collection description files: - Please clarify whether the 145 pixel diameter is generally true (as opposed to 151 mentioned elsewhere), or only for coadded data. Also indicate whether this is true for all filters. - Please explain why filter 1 does not appear to have a circular field of view. - Please clarify whether the position of the exposed image is constant on the detector. - Please note more prominently that the remainder of the 320x200 pixel region (not exposed) is used for dark calibration. An explanatory image with labeled regions would be helpful (example in M. Knight's presentation). o See typos in "bopps_typos_knight.txt" PDS4 Standards Liens -------------------- o The type "Balloon" is not currently valid - check this against current list of standard values. o biassub/hd46300/skybackground/fw1/skx1_1_180825433_n007_-003b.xml & biassub/hd46300/skybackground/fw4/skx1_4_180959714_n007_-003b.xml: 0.000 The minimum value is 3.0E0. Perhaps this is related to the odd filename. o calibrated/hd196724/all_filters/setb/fw9/: This directory is empty (which is probably legal). Is that intentional? o documents/bopps_1000.xml - The root tag should be Product_XML_Schema, not Product_Document, as in https://pds.nasa.gov/pds4/pds/v1/PDS4_PDS_1400.xml - Lines 58 and 62 are illegal: Schematron XML Schema (XSD) Their equivalent would be legal if the root were Product_XML_Schema - bopss_1000.xsd should be bopps_1000.xsd o documents/boppssis.pdf - Section 3.8: I find the table descriptions of data in 3.7 easier to read than the xml files in this section. I recommend adding such info to this section if fitting, or a mention that the data is a FITS image - I see that the filename conventions are in the *description.txt. Where are the directories' hierarchies described? o documents/boppssis.xml - BOPPSSIS.pdf should be boppssis.pdf o groundcalibration/status/relays/*.xml: - Line 80: ASCII_Date_Time is illegal. Probably should be ASCII_Date_Time_YMD_UTC o groundcalibration/status/temperature/*.xml: - Line 81: ASCII_Date_Time_UTC is illegal. Probably should be ASCII_Date_Time_YMD_UTC o groundcalibration/photon_transfer_test/*.xml: - Lines 128, 138, 148, 158 are illegal: ASCII_Short_String_Collapsed The intent is probably something like 'ASCII_Directory_Path_Name', 'ASCII_File_Name', or 'ASCII_File_Specification_Name', but the .tab's values look like the roots of filename, e.g. st20_1_000809509_p002_0003r Is it possible for *.tab to have real filenames? If not, maybe ASCII_String. o raw/hd46300/skybackground/fw1/skx1_1_180825433_n007_0000r.xml o raw/hd46300/skybackground/fw4/skx1_4_180959714_n007_0000r.xml - Line 58: 0.000 The minimum value is 3.0 o scoadded/flatfield/hd133772/ccha_0_6_0304_f_0244.xml (& probably others) - Lines 129 and 135 have values too low by 2, maybe due to CRLF o status/pointing/*.xml, a.status/relays/*.xml - Line 80: ASCII_Date_Time is illegal. Probably should be ASCII_Date_Time_YMD_UTC o status/status_description.xml - The logical_identifier looks like an incomplete copy/paste: urn:nasa:pds:bopps:groundcalibration:description should be urn:nasa:pds:bopps:status:description o status/temperature/*.xml - Line 81: ASCII_Date_Time_UTC is illegal. Probably should be ASCII_Date_Time_YMD_UTC
