Liens for New Horizon ALICE data sets (Dec 2016 peer review) ------------------------------------------------------------ * Last updated 2016-12-09 by SBN:T.Barnes Certification Status: Certified. From V1.0 to V2.0 of the PC data sets, the target changed from STYX to N/A for some files. Examples found in 'data/20140720_026814/'. Double check that this is correct. If they are correct, a note should be added to the dataset.cat file. RID 101 Location: Calib/ Dataset: ALL Title: effective area file for SOCC. Description: the effective area file, and its wavelength solution, have different sampling. Recommended Solution: adopt same sampling as the airglow channel RID 102 Location: Document Dataset: ALL Title: missing CoccEgress info. Description: The Charon occultation egress sequence is missing from the files Seq_alice_pluto(cruise).tab Recommended Solution: insert details of Charon occultation egress Review Panel Note: The "missing" sequence table for Charon Occultation Egress is most likely not missing, but rather both ingress and egress are in a single file for Charon. RID 103 Location: Document Dataset: ALL Title: files not referenced. Description: the files nh_trajectory.tab and nh_alice_v200_ti.txt are never referenced Recommended Solution: in docinfo.txt, explain purpose of nh_trajectory.tab and nh_alice_v200_ti.txt RID 104 Location: Catalog/ Dataset: ALL Title: missing file described in dataset.cat Description: in dataset.cat it's written: "a table has been provided in the DOCUMENT/ area with XY (two-dimensional) positions of each inferred target in the primary data products". No such a table exists... Recommended Solution: add such file or delete reference to that file RID 105 Location: Documents/ Dataset: ALL Title: bad URLs Description: the links in Soc_inst_icd.pdf (page 10 of pdf, on FITS format) and Codmac_level_definitions.pdf are not working Recommended Solution: replace with working URL. RID 106 - Rejected by Review Panel RID 107 Location: Document\ Dataset: ALL Title: missing files with steradians and conversion in Rayleighs Description: There's no mention of P-Alice solid angle :-( In R-Alice there were two files, in Document\: 1) alice_data_to_rayleighs.asc, which explained the conversion between photons/cm2/s and Rayleighs; 2) the file with the solid angle for each pixel of the detector, needed to do such conversion Recommended Solution: add those two files Review Panel Note: It may not be possible to generate the documents requested for New Horizons at this point, but it's worth investigating. files: 'catalog/dataset.cat' --> PE datasets: slot vs. slit: When describing histograms where Pluto and Charon were in the "slot" in Data Set Overview within the following sections: PC_AIRGLOW, PC_VISUV_MAP, PC_Multi_Map. Please define the slot in the narrow "stick of the lollipop" of the slit. --> typo: 'capabillity' => 'capability' --> PE datasets: Regarding the Pluto occultation data, there are various statements that combined cause confusion. It is now understood from the discussion in the room that the sequence table identifies windows of observation, listed by the start time of the window, and does not list the exact timing of the occultation and egress exposure start. Just make sure that this is clearly noted and that they are listed by blocks. directory: 'calib/' --> It would be useful to have a file stating the per pixel solid angle along the 32 rows of the slit, i.e. the solid angle of the slot vs. the SOCC. Please add a file to this extent if possible or note the solid angle values in some other file. files: 'nh-x-alice-2-plutocruise-v2.0/data/20130712_023592/*.lbl' --> This may not matter, but 26 pairs of files have the same START_TIME and SPACECRAFT_CLOCK_START_COUNT. No other directories have such duplicates. The calibrated data (nh-x-alice-3-plutocruise) has the same. files: 'nh-x-alice-2-plutocruise-v2.0/data/20130712_023592/* --> This may not matter, but the last 4 products have no equivalent in the calibrated data (nh-x-alice-3-plutocruise-...)
