Subject: New Horizons: SWAP review From: Steven Joy Date: 12/3/2020, 1:49 PM To: Ludmilla Kolokolova , Elizabeth Warner , Rudy Frahm Ludmilla - Here is my review of the most recent SWAP data. In general, the data provided look good. The calibrated data are not as complete as the raw data and I think that the team should explain why. Also, I discovered an inconsistency between the previous (May 2020) version of the nh_mission_trajectory.tab and the current version (positions at same times differ between files). This is a generic file provided by the mission, not a SWAP file so I should have noted the same problem in the PEPSSI data but I hadn't thought to check this when I was doing that review. I'm sure that the problem is that the project updated their SPICE kernel set when they were generating the data files. I've asked that they (the project) include a list of kernels used to produce the data in the label, the way that the SWAP team does for it's data and trajectory files. This will provide some level of explanation for content changes in old (previously reviewed) parts of new files. I don't think either of these issues would prevent a users from being able to work with the data (Certified). -Steve- Attachments: Joy_SWAP_Dec2020_Final.ppt 4.0 MB
